William Bee Ririe Hospital (WBRH) located at 1500 Avenue H, in Ely, Nevada 89301, is a JCAHO (Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) accredited county hospital district is located in White Pine County Nevada. WBRH is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital that owns and operates the William Bee Ririe Hospital Clinic (WBRHC) located at #6 Steptpe Circle, Ely, Nevada 89301; an 18,000-sq. ft. multispecialty Hospital based Rural Health Clinic.
Six elected board of trustees including the Chief of Medical Staff governs WBRH. The hospital's Chief Executive Officer, Rick Kilburn, is responsible for WBRH's overall management and reports directly to the board of trustees.
WBRH was constructed in 1968 as a 33-bed General Acute Care Hospital. WBRH converted to a Critical Access Hospital on February 1, 2001. WBRH, In 1999, constructed an 18,000-sq. ft. clinic adjacent to WBRH. WBRH, in 2000, hired all of the physicians from Eastern Nevada Medical Group. WBRH, resulting from hiring the physicians from ENMG, employ all physicians in White Pine County. Additionally, WBRH, except for local pharmacies, home oxygen services, county health nurse, ambulance, and home health agency, became the only provider for diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services in White Pine County. Finally, WBRHC, resulting from employing all physicians in White Pine County, is able to generate a referral base to better support local and visiting specialty physicians.
Future Expansion
WBRH's Board of Trustees, in September 2004, approved a 12,000-sq.ft. new addition and 9,000-sq.ft. remodel project for $5,400,000. The construction project will upgrade the laboratory, emergency department, outpatient/surgical recovery rooms, respiratory therapy, radiology, sleep laboratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, gift shop and laundry. WBRH has completed these projects.
WBRH is now working on a Central Business Office remodeling project anticipated to be complete by February 14th, 2008 for the convenience of our customers and patients.
