Las Vegas Construction Engineering Jobs
Construction engineering is the practice of planning, executing and managing the construction of structures, which may include airports, bridges, residential and commercial buildings, highways and public works facilities such as water, power and wastewater treatment plants. Construction engineers play a vital role in a community, especially growing metropolitan areas like Las Vegas.
There are many excellent construction engineering jobs in Las Vegas. Some positions may require only a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty and licensure, and those new to the field can expect to work under the direction and supervision of a seasoned engineer.
A large percentage of available Las Vegas construction engineering jobs require the candidate to hold a master’s degree or, in some cases, a doctorate degree. In general, the more education and experience an engineer has, the higher the salary range. According to the U. S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, a construction engineer can expect to earn anywhere from $46,080 (for an entry level position) to more than $120,610.
In Southern Nevada, growth has fueled the constant demand for construction engineers to build new schools throughout the Las Vegas Valley, a proposed airport just outside of Las Vegas, and countless residential developments. On the Las Vegas Strip, professionals are needed to fill construction engineering jobs for a number of current and proposed projects, including Echelon Place (on the site of the former Stardust), MGM Mirage’s CityCenter project, a high-end resort planned for the site of the former New Frontier, and a variety of on- and off-Strip condominium projects.
