Las Vegas Structural Engineering Jobs
Structural engineering is the design and analysis of physical objects, which includes bridges, buildings, tunnels, towers and walls. A strong understanding of the strength of materials used in construction and the seismic design of various structures is critical. Structural engineers inspect buildings during and after construction and oversee the materials used.
There are always plenty of structural engineering jobs in Las Vegas. Entry level positions require licensure and a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty. Newly graduated engineers work under the direction of an experienced engineer and may take continuing education classes.
The majority of Las Vegas structural engineering jobs are best suited for those who already hold master’s degrees (or even doctorate degrees). The salary range varies, depending on degrees and work experience. According to the U. S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, a structural engineer can expect to earn anywhere from $46,080 (for a starting position) to more than $120,610.
There is always a need for structural engineers to keep pace with rapid construction in Southern Nevada, but structural engineers are also in demand because they play a vital role in the dismantling and demolition of existing structures, something that is done routinely in Las Vegas.
