The Clinical Nurse provides care and symptom management to adult cancer patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. The practice of oncology nursing encompasses the roles of direct caregiver, patient education, researcher, chemotherapy, biotherapy, and investigational drug administration. Performs all duties in accordance with NVCI's mission, vision and values of Discovery, Excellence, Collaboration, Compassion, Integrity, and Stewardship.

Requires an Associate's degree from an accredited Nursing program. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or a related field is preferred. Minimum of four to six years nursing experience required. Two years of oncology experience and inpatient/outpatient oncology nursing practice is preferred. Minimum of two years of inpatient and outpatient oncology nursing practice preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of state, deferral, local and institutional regulations related to the maintenance of medical records. Comprehensive knowledge of legal issues pertaining to nursing care. Comprehensive knowledge of the cancer trajectory (diagnosis, staging, treatment, outcomes). Comprehensive knowledge of the complications of cancer. Comprehensive knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents, administrator techniques, chemotherapy protocols and side effects profiles. Well developed communication, analytical, organizational and training skills. State of Nevada Registered Nurse License required. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Oncology Nurses Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Saver (BLS) required.
