Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Mobile Crisis department located at 1650 Community College Dr Las Vegas, NV. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. We provide innovative outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community through four outpatient clinics. Inpatient services are provided through the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital which is accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. This position requires an experienced clinician who can function independently in the field and can travel in personal vehicle to Las Vegas Valley hospitals to provide psychosocial assessments of patients who have been placed on psychiatric commitments. The assessment will include a mental status exam, risk assessment and a DSM-IV multiaxial diagnosis. The clinician will interact with hospital staff and make recommendations to ER or attending physicians to hold or discharge patients off of their psychiatric commitment while providing all necessary referrals and discharge plans. The incumbent must function effectively as a part of an eight person team of clinicians and interface effectively with other departments and staff of SNAMHS. The incumbent will be required to attend staff meetings and completing administrative tasks including completing all paperwork for gaining clinical privileges at local hospitals. Incumbent must be computer literate since assessments are performed on a laptop computer and paperwork is handled electronically. Additional requirements include, personal mal-practice insurance, CPR certification, and a TB test. Full-Time: Sunday - Wednesday 7am - 5:30pm The State of Nevada provides an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), yearly accrual of 15 days of annual leave and 15 days of sick leave, 11 paid holidays. SNAMHS provides on-going training and education to staff, including paid release time for attending training and the availability of on-site CEUs. Some positions may also be eligible for an additional 5% Shift Differential pay and 5% Bilingual pay. To Qualify
Education and Experience
1)Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
1)Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
2)Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.

1)A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
2)Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
3)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
