LOCATION: Carson, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
This position is located in the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) within the Administration Division, Information Services Section in Carson City. The position plans, facilitates and monitors NDOT's infrastructure development using ITIL for the statewide enterprise through systems integration, policy, procedures, and enterprise project oversight in such areas as applications, GIS, systems and network/telecommunications infrastructure. NDOT plans to implement some areas of ITIL. This includes critical public safety systems. NOTE: THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF HAVING THEIR FINGERPRINTS ROLLED. To Qualify
Education and Experience
1)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

Additional Position Experience
1)Technical experience (certification in ITIL V2 or V3 desirable) with ITIL planning and implementation
2)Technical experience with Information Technology contracts management for the State of Nevada.
3)Technical experience with Enterprise systems migration
4)Technical experience with project planning, implementation and oversight in a complex environment
5)Experience with integration of information security requirements into project plans
Examination
