APPROXIMATE SALARY$54,204 - $81,140 per yr

LOCATION: Carson, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa



Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.


This position is located within the Information Services Division, Carson City. Responsibilities include primary support of NDOT's SQL Server databases and co-support of NDOT's Oracle databases. Preference may be given to those who also have experience using Oracle Spatial. NOTE: THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF HAVING THEIR FINGERPRINTS ROLLED. To Qualify

Education and Experience

1)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

1)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.

2)This position is subject to call-out or call-back.

3)Statewide travel is required.

4)Working weekends and/or holidays is required.

5)Applicants must be willing to work standby and carry the standby cellular phone for evening and weekend system troubleshooting.

Additional Position Experience

1)Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience using version 2000 or higher

2)Experience with Oracle database administration experience using version 9 or higher
