APPROXIMATE SALARY$54,204 - $81,140 per yr

LOCATION: Carson, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa



Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

This position requires experience in managing and configuring security, monitoring SQL server for performance analysis and database optimization. Extensive knowledge in maintenance and management of SQL server high availability, database replication, and disaster/recovery. This is a senior position and as such requires participation in group problem analysis and consultation with other DMV personnel.

This position is located in our Carson City office within the Information Technology Division. The division is comprised of four distinct work groups: Application, Systems, Production Control and Networks. The IT Professional III will need to possess excellent project management, analysis and design, and interpersonal communication skills. The position requires skills necessary to perform complex technical programming while maintaining competency in constructive coding techniques. Duties include gathering user requirements, understanding DMV business requirements and processes, and analyzing those requirements and processes in order to design and assist in the creation of application software solutions. A candidate for this position must possess extensive universal core skill of SQL Server 2005 or later version; will be responsible for the creation and implementation of server data storage objects such as database, data types and tables, constraints, indexes, queries; and programming objects such as user-defined functions, user-defined data types, triggers and stored procedures using Transact-SQL or through common language runtime (CLR); relational database, database design and capacity planning.

To Qualify

Education and Experience

1)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

1)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

2)A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

Additional Position Experience

1)Experience with SQL and Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET Sybase's PowerBuilder is required.

2)Experience with Windows 2003 or later version operating system and networking.

3)Experience in mainframe applications.
