LOCATION: Las Vegas, Boulder City, Indian Springs, Jean, Henderson
The preponderance of duties and responsibilities of positions in this class is providing technical expertise for project development, specialized systems and/or functions and advanced research, analysis and problem solving in specialized areas of highway maintenance and construction.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. NOTE! THIS POSITION CAN BE ASSIGNED TO EITHER CARSON CITY OR LAS VEGAS DEPENDING UPON THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL SELECTED.

To Qualify
Education and Experience
1)Licensure as a Professional Engineer and two years of licensed P.E. experience in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity in the operation and maintenance of a large physical plant.
Special Notes
1)Any person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of continuing employment.
Special Requirements
1)Licensure as a Professional Engineer by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is required at the time of appointment.
2)A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
3)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Additional Position Experience
1)Experience in alternative energy development and management and/or mechanical engineering background is required.
