APPROXIMATE SALARY$49,694 - $74,082 per yr

LOCATION: Carson, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa



Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.

Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. The duties for this position include providing maintenance, support, and enhancements for the suite of software applications making up the Department of Taxation's UTS System. Using established UTS standards, structured programming techniques, and generally accepted programming practices, incumbent will design, maintain, code, test, and implement computer programs within the UTS Application suite according to design specifications and requirements. The individual hired for this position will be required to complete assignments using Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports. The ideal candidate can document extensive experience using the Oracle Application Development Toolset including Forms/Reports and PLSQL. In lieu of Oracle Forms/Reports experience, candidates may be considered who can document experience using another Relational DBMS (i.e SQL-Server, DB2), and who have the potential to learn and become productive using Oracle Forms/Reports in an accelerated time frame.

To Qualify

Education and Experience

1)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Position Experience
