Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS), 6161 W. Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas and is in the Social Services department, located at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, 1650 Community College Dr, Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Senior Outreach, Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the new Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through four mental health clinics located throughout the community. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program. Positions at this level receive direct supervision while performing duties and incumbents receive training and gain experience while working toward licensure by the Board of Examiners for Social Work. This is the entry level class in the series and incumbents may progress to the Clinical Social Worker II position upon receipt of their license. The position will coordinate and obtain community services for clients, actively participate on the treatment team, develop treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention. Emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that leads to self sufficiency. Ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 8a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off. Part-time positions accrue pro-rated leave based on hours worked. Some positions may also be eligible for an additional 5% Shift Differential pay and 5% Bilingual pay. To Qualify
Education and Experience
1)Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
1)Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
2)Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

1)A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
2)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.
3)A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
