Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Clinical Social Worker III's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS), 6161 W. Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas and is in the Social Services department, located at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, 1650 Community College Dr, Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public, and implementing a best practices clinical program. The incumbent in this position will manage the Mobile Crises Unit, which includes 5.51 FTE licensed clinical social workers. Duties will include providing clinical supervision, review of documentation, peer review, performance improvement as well as participating in a leadership role on hospital committees, and corrective action/treatment team monitoring. Incumbent will be responsible for adherinere to all policies and procedures, maintaining the timekeeping function, scheduling and management of departmental holiday coverage and management of the overtime budget. Incumbent will be on call as needed for weekends and holidays as well as program development, and training. Other duties will includ ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of four 10 hour shifts to be determined to meet staffing patterns and needs. SNAMHS provides continual on-going training and education to our staff, including paid release time for attending training and the availability of on-site CEU's. To Qualify
Education and Experience
1)Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers, and one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
Special Notes
1)Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
2)Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
