SALARY: Based on CSN Salary Schedule; Max 10 Years Teaching Experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
(Note) Local Search: No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates.
This tenure track Communication Instructor position begins in January of 2010. The responsibilities of this position include:
--Teach COM 101 Oral Communication (Public Speaking)
--Provide an excellent teaching experience to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies
--Develop syllabi and course materials
--Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
--Participate in student advisement and participate in recruitment activities
--Maintain weekly office hours as required by the College
--Participate in program/curriculum/assessment development
--Participate in department/division meetings and activities
--Serve on department and College-wide committees
--Participate in appropriate professional development activities
--Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day, evening and/or weekend classes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

--Master's degree in Speech, Communication, Speech Communication, Communication Studies, or Rhetoric from a regionally accredited college or university.
--Demonstrated proficiency in teaching public speaking courses at the college level
