Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
NNAMHS is currently seeking a part-time Clinical Social Worker 2 to provide assessment and referral services for individuals who are severely mentally ill. This position will be located in the Patient Assessment Services in the Dini-Townsend Hospital in Sparks, Nevada. The incumbent will perform patient evaluations and assessments through interviews with patient, families and friends and review of medical records including social, developmental, and medical history to determine strengths, presenting problems, resources, and eligibility for applicable programs and services. They will identify appropriate interventions and make referrals to access treatment opportunities. The CSW 2 will be called upon to perform crisis intervention and recommend and complete documentation for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. While most of the role of the social workers is implemented in a sitting position, it does require some walking. This position requires extensive typing utilizing computer to document assessments in the electronic medical record. The incumbent must be able to participate in appropriate verbal interventions, be proficient in Conflict Prevention and Response Techniques and to be able to physically remove themselves from a crisis situation. Education and Experience
1)Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
1)Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

1)A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
2)Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
3)A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
