The incumbent will work as a member of the Childrens' Treatment Services at DRC and function as a behavioral specialist on these childrens' teams to develop and implement behavioral treatment plans. The behavioral treatment programs will emphasize positive behavioral supports. The incumbent will assess the child's needs and develop behavioral assessments with recommendations for treatment services. The incumbent will work closely with the child's family, other public agencies, private residential providers, schools, child welfare courts, and others to support the child's needs and to facilitate clinical determinations. The incumbent in this position will manage the Mobile Crises Unit, which includes 5.51 FTE licensed clinical social workers. Duties will include providing clinical supervision, review of documentation, peer review, performance improvement as well as participating in a leadership role on hospital committees, and corrective action/treatment team monitoring. Incumbent will be responsible for adherinere to all policies and procedures, maintaining the timekeeping function, scheduling and management of departmental holiday coverage and management of the overtime budget. This position requires an experienced clinician who can function independently in the field and can travel in personal vehicle to Las Vegas Valley hospitals to provide psychosocial assessments of patients who have been placed on psychiatric commitments. The assessment will include a mental status exam, risk assessment and a DSM-IV multiaxial diagnosis. The clinician will interact with hospital staff and make recommendations to ER or attending physicians to hold or discharge patients off of their psychiatric commitment while providing all necessary referrals and discharge plans. The incumbent must function effectively as a part of an eight person team of clinicians and interface effectively with other departments and staff of SNAMHS. The incumbent will be required to attend staff meetings and completing administrative tasks including completing all paperwork for gaining clinical privileges at local hospitals. NNAMHS is currently seeking a part-time Clinical Social Worker 2 to provide assessment and referral services for individuals who are severely mentally ill.
