Class participation, coursework, assignments, and written performance examinations are reviewed and evaluated during the academy. Upon successful graduation from the academy, the incumbents either: 1) Work under supervision as a trainee within the Divisions of Highway Patrol, Parole &amp; Probation, Investigation Divsion, or the State Fire Marshal's Office. Incumbents may progress to the next level upon meeting the minimum qualifications and with approval of the appointing authority;OR 2) Work under general supervision in the Capitol Police Division at the journey level performing foot and vehicular patrol of State owned and leased property including the Governors Mansion, or are assigned to a 24-hour desk operation receiving and relaying information to on-duty officers.
