THE POSITION:&#x0D;
Positions are located in the Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital and SNAMHS Psychiatric Services. Licensed Physicians examines new patients by using standard medical examination procedures in order to diagnose, determine eligibility and make recommendations for intervention evaluate patients, plan and review care and treatment of individual patients, prescribe medications; and prepare reports, case histories and interpret medical records. The ability to supervise residents from the UNR School of Medicine Residency Program and residents from other School of Medicine programs as needed. Attends medical meetings in order to promote cooperative working relationships and may participate in licensure and federal regulation surveys by providing medical advice as needed.&#x0D;

REQUIREMENTS:&#x0D;
* Senior Physicians must possess and maintain current licensure as a Physician issued by the State of Nevada Board of Medicine.&#x0D;
* Must possess and maintain DEA certification and State Board of Pharmacy certification.&#x0D;
* Must maintain CPR certification.&#x0D;
* Fingerprinting and a background investigation through the FBI and NHP are required. The employee is responsible for all associated fees.&#x0D;

SALARY AND BENEFITS:&#x0D;
Annual salary up to $130,369. Employee benefits include paid annual leave, paid sick leave, health, dental and vision insurance and the state retirement plan. Other optional benefits are available, including a deferred compensation plan.&#x0D;

Advanced Practitioners of Nursing (APN) work within the scope of practice of an APN and practice protocols as agreed upon by the collaborating physician and the APN, as set forth in the Nurse Practice Act, Chapter 632 of the Nevada Revised Statutes and Administrative Code.&#x0D;

Sr. Physician Requirements:  Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or approved by the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners or Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, with one year of internship in an approved hospital and three years of experience in the practice of medicine or equivalent combination of both; OR completion of an appropriate residency approved by the American Medical Association OR an equivalent combination substituting each year of resident training for a year of medical practice; OR board eligibility in a medical specialty; OR board certification in a medical specialty.&#x0D;

Prescribe and dispense medications as allowed by the mental health practice and State law in accordance with established protocol; monitor patient for medication side effects, allergic reactions and adjust the medication regime as needed. Evaluate and triage consumers in crisis. Maintain accurate records documenting all findings, diagnoses, and treatments, including medications and changes in status; prepare written reports, records, and summaries. Maintain safety, health and well being of individuals in the therapeutic environment as allowed in the practice setting; follow facility procedures regarding techniques and duration of confinement; notify appropriate personnel of action taken and document as required. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families to promote positive mental health habits; provide health-related education and training to staff.
